Woo, Sculpture work! o3o -hand jive-

Okay so this is mah babeh. Been a Project I started on over a year ago and actually only completed today! 8D; -such a lazy arse procrastinator- He's a biiiig mamma jamma. It took 3 people to load him into our huge out door Kiln and about 4 to put him into the gallery. Sadly the lighting was bad when I took these pictures but I had to act quick since I had to get back to class and couldn't really find the right studio lights for my section of the gallery. @__@;;

Anyway, this big guy is suppose to be a gargoyle, roughly inspired by Arthur Spiderwick's interpretation of one from a book I saw forever ago. I really liked the long arse giraffe neck and arms. They was fun looking >u>

So yeah. This guy took about 2-3 months to make in the sense of time I was actually working on him. It's entirely coil built from teh bottom up. That means it was built with layers of coils from head to toe and then smoothen together to make it look like one large connected figure. The body was sculpted a year ago, the head a month or so ago out of Terra Cotta clay and he is covered in a metallic acrylic paint. The collar was added to hide the huge ass gap connecting the two parts together |DD;; -so creative- I'll probably end up fixing him up after the show, but I'm so glad just to have him up for my gallery opening tomorrow. Hope all goes well! .__. -so nervous-

Also, the name guardian came from the fact that my teacher keept calling it a dog all while I was making it and the collar madeit look like a wierd arse royal, shiny, guard dog. And it was the first thing that came to mind when I was asked what the title of the piece was. xD;; -facedesk-
